Could you imagine having to rely on a complete stranger to save your beloved poochs’ life? Well, let’s hope you don’t end up in a similar situation to this mutt mother, as one day this is exactly what she found herself having to do.
After a two and a half hour hike up a mountain and enjoying the beautiful lake with her pooch, one owner had a ginormous shock after discovering that her dog, Sansa, was suddenly in grave danger. Sansa had gone exploring as she does on any hike when she came across something that rather intrigued her, and, like any other dog would, this sudden sense of interest led her to do only one thing – play. She yapped and sniffed and chased and played; all was well – until fun turned into danger, as Sansa’s new friend turned out to be not so friendly.
What Sansa had encountered was not a friend at all, but what turned out to be a poisonous snake. Sansa was chasing the snake, unbeknownst to her that it would end up whipping around and biting her, and in turn, poisoning the poor pooch.
Sansa and her owner were in the middle of nowhere, there was no one to be seen, and Sansa had passed out.
Beyond panicking, Sansa’s owner carried her to the hut where they had earlier had lunch. There were people there, but none who could help. Sansa’s owner was lost, she had never been in a situation like this before – she didn’t know what to do or who to call. That was, until three strangers, a group of men training for a mountain marathon, came across the poor pair – who luckily for them, offered to carry Sansa down the mountain. As they did, her owner called her father and told him what had happened; he rushed to the vet and arrived at the bottom of the mountain with emergency medicine for Sansa.
By the time her owner had taken the two and a half hour journey back to the bottom of the mountain, Sansa was being treated by a nurse who was giving her the emergency medication, after the three strangers who came across the two had ran down the mountain with Sansa in their arms, taking just thirty minutes to arrive at the bottom and save the poisoned pooches life.
Many of us would panic at the idea of relying on a stranger to save the life of one of our furry friends, especially in a situation like Sansa’s. But this incredible story just goes to show that the power of people really can save a life.
